Welcome to LifeBridge!
Have you ever heard (or said) one of the following expressions about church:
“There are too many hypocrites.”
“It’s too boring.”
“The church is out of touch.”
“They aren’t very friendly there.”
“They just want your money!”
These are just some of the expressions I’ve heard from people on why they don’t attend church. I didn’t grow up going to church, but over the years, I have certainly visited enough churches to know that I not only agree with some of those statements, I am sure I’ve spoken them at times. So how does LifeBridge Christian Church measure up?
Are there hypocrites at LifeBridge? Honestly, sometimes you’ll find people whose actions and words don’t always line up. Around here, it is more likely that people are forgiven and not perfect. We do hope that people discover forgiveness and learn to grow.
Are the services boring? Our hope is to bring honor to God in our worship. Regardless of how much or how little you know about faith, we strive to make worship inviting and engaging.
Out of touch and irrelevant. I sure hope not. Although the Bible is an old book, it has plenty to say about issues and needs we face today. We look at those issues from a biblical perspective to find ways to understand what God has to say about our lives today.
Is LifeBridge unfriendly? I cannot begin to count the times I thought someone was rude or unfriendly, only to find out that they were facing some tough issues. We encourage people to get connected to others, but we realize that sometimes LifeBridge can be a place where you can hide out while searching for answers. No matter how or why you come, I hope that you simply find real people trying to live out their real faith in this real world.
What about money? Well, there isn’t much in life that isn’t after our money. We believe that giving is personal. It certainly takes money to have the variety of programs that happen at LifeBridge, but stewardship is about us placing our trust in God with the resources he has provided us. Giving is between you and God. I encourage you to not let money keep you from knowing God.
LifeBridge isn’t a perfect place, but it is a safe place. It is a safe place to hear a dangerous message about God’s grace. More than anything, I hope that you find LifeBridge a place of hope, faith, and challenge-no matter what your past experience with church has been.
Yours & His,
Rick
