Faith Forward: Stop the Merry-go-Round
Apr 22nd
Posted by smccarthy in JM Messages
Sometimes life is like a merry-go-round: you jump onto something that looks fun and inviting, only to find that everything changes in an instant. Suddenly it’s very un-fun. In that moment, you’ll do anything, say anything, believe anything just to make it stop. That’s usually when people finally reach out for God – sometimes to blame Him for letting them get on the merry-go-round of life. And when the cycle stops, they go right back to forgetting about God and jumping back on the ‘ride’. That’s an ugly cycle that you can break when you choose to live faith forward. Join Pastor Steve as he teaches lessons from the life of Gideon about how to stop the cycle by living faith forward.

Faith Forward: Guardrails
Apr 15th
Posted by smccarthy in JM Messages
Looking back in our life, we can often see how God was at work. But life happens out the front window, full of twists and turns and unexpected potholes. When we hit those it’s more difficult to believe God is still working – to live faith forward. Without faith, we can easily get derailed, but if we build guardrails in our faith, we’re more likely to arrive at the destinations we desire. These guardrails are built and maintained by connecting to God’s Promises (His Word), God’s Purposes, and God’s People. Listen to Lead Pastor Steve McCarthy explore leadership and faith lessons from the life of Joshua and learn how to live faith forward.

The Story: Wanderings
Mar 11th

Change is hard – no matter what we are trying to change. That’s why we cycle back to things that create pain for us time and time again. The nation of Israel was that way time and time again. God was just and patient, merciful and consequential. Their story is our story, but we lean on God’s patience. Join Rick as he teaches about Israel’s experience, and encourages us to look past the hardship, and consider the change God has in store for us.

The Story: New Commands

“Because I said so!” If you’re a parent you’ve used that one – even if you told yourself you never would. Sometimes we have to lay down the law - especially when we are trying to break bad habits. God was in that same position with the nation of Isreal: 400 years of mixed up religions (2000 gods!) had to be adjusted so they could see – and relate to – the one true God. Join Steve as he explores the significance of the 10 commandments, and what God was communicating to His people
